Wrestling Fit Lab is an independent fit-and-sizing lab for wrestling shoes. This editorial policy explains how we create, review, and maintain our content — and how we protect our readers from conflicts of interest.
Our Mission
We exist to solve one problem: brands and retailers disagree about how wrestling shoes fit, and no one has published a standardized, cross-brand measurement of the same claim. Our job is to measure, test, and report fit data that wrestlers can actually use.
Content Standards
- No hands-on claim without hands-on evidence. If we have not measured a shoe, we do not publish a fit claim about it.
- Measured data over opinions. We lead with caliper measurements, weight data, and tester observations — not subjective impressions.
- Honest recommendations. We will say a shoe is mediocre, overpriced, or wrong for a specific reader when the evidence supports that.
- No fake urgency. We do not use countdown timers, "only 2 left" language, or other pressure tactics.
- One URL per search intent. We do not create duplicate pages targeting close synonyms of the same keyword.
How We Test
Every fit claim on this site follows the protocol described on our How We Test page. This includes:
- Digital caliper measurements (forefoot width in millimeters)
- Insole length measurement
- Weight measurement on a digital scale
- Break-in tracking over multiple wear sessions
- Grip and mat feel testing on standard wrestling mats
- At least two testers per model, with documented foot profiles
Reviewer Independence
- We buy every product we test with our own money.
- We do not accept free products, loaner products, or review samples from brands.
- We do not accept payment for favorable reviews or higher rankings.
- Affiliate commissions do not influence which products we recommend or how we score them.
- Our scoring system is based on measured data, not commercial relationships.
Corrections and Updates
We are committed to accuracy. If we find an error in a factual claim, measurement, or product specification, we correct it promptly and note the correction date on the page.
Product prices and availability change frequently. Every price we cite includes a "checked on" date. If that date is more than a month old, treat the price as directional.
Content Types We Publish
- Fit guides — cross-brand fit data, size charts, measurement instructions
- Reviews — individual model reviews backed by caliper data and tester feedback
- Comparisons — side-by-side matchups using the same shoe size across models
- Buyer guides — shortlists segmented by foot shape, age, and budget
- Explainers — educational content about sole patterns, ankle support, break-in, etc.
What We Do Not Publish
- Sponsored content or advertorials
- Reviews of products we have not personally tested
- Medical or injury-prevention claims
- Content with fabricated tester profiles or fake credentials
- "Best of" lists based solely on spec-sheet comparisons
